Ingredients

  • 4–5 lb pork shoulder (Boston butt)
  • 4 tbsp Dillo® Dust Texas BBQ Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 12 slider buns
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 cups coleslaw (optional)
  • Pickle slices for serving

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Pork

Pat the pork shoulder dry with paper towels. Coat lightly with yellow mustard to help the seasoning adhere. Generously apply Dillo® Dust BBQ Seasoning to all sides of the pork.

Step 2: Slow Cook

Place the pork shoulder in a smoker set to 250°F or in a slow cooker. Add apple juice to help maintain moisture during cooking.

Cook until the internal temperature reaches 203°F and the meat pulls apart easily with a fork. This typically takes 8–10 hours in a smoker or 8–10 hours on low in a slow cooker.

Step 3: Shred the Pork

Remove the pork and let it rest for 20 minutes. Shred using two forks and mix with a small amount of BBQ sauce.

Step 4: Build the Sliders

Pile the pulled pork onto slider buns. Top with coleslaw and pickle slices for added crunch and flavor.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

Serve immediately with chips, smoked beans, grilled corn, or your favorite BBQ side dishes.
